US Online Gambling Bill Gains Momentum in Congress

Though the notorious UIGEA will be turning into law this December, there is a lot of activity on the other side of the subject that may turn things in the U.S. 180 degrees. There is a strong force in congress that is pushing legislation in the direction of legalized online gambling. At this point, American gambling laws prevent banks from allowing transactions that are used for internet gambling.

Punters can be happy for the activities of Representative Barney Frank, a congressman who is visibly and unabashedly standing up for their rights. Congressman Frank’s intentions were to hold a floor debate in the House of Representatives in the first week of December.
